The canton provides 2 million francs per year for foreign development cooperation projects. The financial contributions are intended to sustainably improve the development prospects of the population in the poorest countries in the world or in specifically disadvantaged regions. The development cooperation of the canton of Basel-Stadt is involved exclusively within the scope of projects abroad, focusing on topics such as medical care, agriculture, education, business promotion, etc.
