St. Jakob-Park

After only two and a half years of construction, St. Jakob-Park was opened in 2001 as the first multifunctional stadium in Switzerland. Situated on the south-eastern edge of the city in the midst of an expansive parkland and recreation area, this event park with a unique dimension, intelligent architecture and cutting-edge infrastructure was created by the internationally renowned Basel architects Herzog & de Meuron. It offers a first-class setting for large events and can accommodate visitor numbers far exceeding 30,000.

Easy and affordable to reach with public transportation, the over 36,000-seat St. Jakob-Park is one of Europe’s most beautiful multifunctional stadiums. Its generous dimensions and modern, multifaceted spaces provide a forum for events of all kinds, both indoor and outdoor. In addition to national and international football matches, St. Jakob-Park also hosts open-air concerts by famous rock and pop legends. Large sporting and cultural events of every type are just as feasible as exhibitions, customer events, shows and general assemblies. There is no event or concept that cannot be implemented here. The Premium Lounge with its exclusive atmosphere impresses with an unparalleled view of the stadium's interior and offers space for events with up to almost 1,000 participants. Wassermann & Company AG is in charge of delivering culinary highlights. From intimate cocktail receptions to gala dinners, you will have an expert partner at your side.

Boasting not only an optimal architectural design but also fulfilling the highest technological standards, St. Jakob-Park offers the ideal conditions for live presentations, open-air events, workshops and congresses thanks to its two state-of-the-art giant digital screens (LED). The event park designed by Swiss star architects Herzog & de Meuron is an exceptional meeting space for young and old alike and is also home to a shopping centre with about 50 shops and an in-house fitness centre.

The event-team of FC Basel 1893 assists with the professional planning and realisation of events and can provide expert advice on any issue that arises. Public tours of St. Jakob-Park are also conducted (book in advance).
