The Swiss Exhibition is among the top live-marketing companies in Europe. It was founded in 2001 through the merger of the former exhibition companies in Basel and Zurich.

The Swiss Exhibition’s primary business focus is creating marketing platforms and solutions in the form of international and national trade and consumer exhibitions. It provides its customers – both exhibitors and visitors – with assistance relevant to participation or attendance at an exhibition, with in-house services or ones delivered by expert partners.

The Swiss Exhibition’s portfolio includes around 30 trade fairs that it designs, organises and implements itself. With Art Basel, Art Basel Miami Beach and Art Basel Hong Kong international art exhibitions, and previously for many years also BASELWORLD, the world watch and jewellery show, the Swiss Exhibition is the organiser of the most important events worldwide in these industries. Numerous additional fairs hosted by the Swiss Exhibition such as Igeho, Swisstech, Swissbau and others have a strong international reputation and are among the key events on the European exhibition scene. On a national level, the majority of the Swiss Exhibition’s events are of premier quality.

A total of 20 to 30 of its own and guest exhibitions are held in Basel each year, with around 6,000 exhibiting companies participating and over 1.25 million visitors in attendance. The Swiss Exhibition also operates its own congress centre, where over 250 congresses and various events are hosted annually.

In addition, the Swiss Exhibition rents out its infrastructure to independent exhibition, congress and event organisers. The exhibition grounds in Basel encompass an exhibition space of 141,000 square metres in total. The multifunctional event hall is completely free of pillars and equipped with the latest technology, accommodating up to 3,000 visitors with a floor area of 3,300 m2 and a 1,200-m2 foyer. The expansion of Hall 1, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, is a three-level hall complex featuring the City Lounge. With around 420 square metres of floor space, Hall 1 is ideal for large events of all kinds, as well as events requiring stage and grandstand constructions. With its large clock over the main entrance, Hall 2 has been a Basel landmark for years. The open circular courtyard with its interior galleries is ideal for events with accompanying open-air activities. Hall 3, all on one level and free of pillars, is perfect for smaller exhibitions, trade fairs and other events. Guests have an outstanding view of the exhibition areas from the gallery located above Hall 3.
